As at August 2025, the retailer-led Soft Plastic Taskforce (Woolworths, Coles, Aldi) pilot collections were underway in over 500 selected stores in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle. You can find participating Woolworths locations here:
In June 2025, the AFGC completed it’s trials and pilots under the NPRS program, which incorporated local councils undertaking soft plastic kerbside collections across nine (9) council areas in NSW, SA and Vic.
On 1 July 2025, SPSA commenced kerbside commercialisation activities in the same nine (9) councils. Subject to ACCC authorisation, SPSA expects to implement a broader kerbside program, in conjunction with drop-off locations, across Australia.
