With eight year approval from the ACCC, SPSA aims to:
1.
Improve environmental outcomes including reduced reliance on virgin plastic, reduced emissions and reduced plastic entering landfill or the environment.
2.
Increase soft plastic recycling rates in support of industry and/or government targets.
3.
Enhance the availability of post-consumer recycled content, including for food grade and pharmacuetical grade packaging, to improve circularity in the supply chain.
4.
Drive development of the plastics recycling industry in Australia by incentivising both the supply of feedstock and industry demand.
